The Beach Century Bike Tour is your ride - as challenging or relaxing as you choose, but always fun and rewarding.
Sponsored by the We Promise Foundation, the 2011 Beach Century Bike Tour offers several options for riders including distances of 33 miles, 50 miles, or a full Century! We’ve worked hard to design a course that emphasizes safety, fun, challenge, and beauty.
The course begins in the municipal area of Virginia Beach (near the Courthouse) and meanders south near Back Bay, taking advantage of the low-traffic roads in the area. It then turns west and crosses over the only climb on the courseundefinedthe Pungo Ferry Bridge. From there, it passes by Northwest River Park, crosses VA-168 and continues west along beautiful farmlands in southern Chesapeake. After looping through Chesapeake on low-traffic roads, the riders will return along the same route.
