Mission of the Tidewater Bicycle Association: The purpose of the TBA is to promote and encourage the use of the bicycle as a means of recreation and transportation; to develop a physically fit, self reliant, well informed citizen; to uphold and support the rights of bicyclists; to encourage the use of facilities for bicycling on public lands; and to provide information in the interest of bicycling safety.

Friday, July 4th, Independence Day Ride - click here for more info - Put this date on your calendar for an all paces bicycle ride followed by a TBA FREE members Pollards provided picnic. Distances of 25 or 40 miles. Non-TBA members are certainly welcome to ride but cost of picnic will be $10 per non-TBA member. However, if the guests join TBA that day the food will be FREE.

If you don’t want to ride, come anyway and Nancy can probably find something for you to do. More information can be found on Page 4

If you enjoy cycling, are concerned about your health and like meeting new people with the same interests, there are two events this month that you absolutely do not want to miss. The first is the 2nd Annual TBA 4th of July bicycle ride and the after ride FREE Pollards furnished fantastic lunch. The ride starts at 9:45 a.m. from Munden Point Park and the eating starts at 12:30 p.m. You must pre-register so we can have enough food. Full details are located below and in the Touring section of this newsletter. More information is available by calling Tom or Marcella at (757) 422-3425.

The next General Membership Meeting will be on Wednesday, July 9th at the Virginia Beach Central Library. As always new and non-members are welcome and encouraged to attend. 6:30 pm to socialize, 7:00 start of meeting.
