B+ Pace      7:00am     54 Miles        New Kent County

Come ride the country roads in New Kent County.  I would expect the average speed to be 18+ mph on this ride.  Over the 54 mile route, the roads are mostly slightly rolling and some of the roads have been recently surfaced with new asphalt, smooth and fast.  Only 1600-1800 feet of climbing, although there are a few hills that will get your attention, 10% grade and steeper at points.  There is little to no traffic and I would consider New Kent to be a cycling friendly community.  Cosby Mill Road is a very fast part of the ride, hard effort required.  You will easily hit 30+ mph and the downhills, the climbs are slightly slower.  There are no store stops on the route, remember country ride.  I will arrange a sag stop at the half-way point for Gatorade and water.  For those that want a faster pace, the route will be clearly marked; cue sheets and maps will also be provided.  Once we arrive back to New Kent Elementary, there are some ride options for additional miles.  I will be riding about 80+ miles.  Triathletes Welcome, great training route for the upcoming Patriots Half 2008 in September.
